Blood cannot be manufactured or produced artificially, which means that it can only come from human donors and then be transfused to those who require it. Two of the most common reasons for people to never have donated blood are – because no one ever asked them to or because of their fear of needles. The average adult has about 10 units of blood in his body and roughly only 1 unit is given during each donation, which does not keep pace with the tremendous demand of blood needed.
