Yes! Who would’ve thought that Fashion would become a problem to one’s health?! Talk about first world problems!
Skinny jeans come first on the list. A case report published in the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry chronicles the woeful tale of a 35-year-old woman whose legs went numb while she was wearing skinny jeans. “Her legs and ankles had become so swollen that emergency room staff had to cut her jeans off. That’s the extent of how bad things can get! Her knees and hips were all good but her knees and ankles went for a toss! The term tight pants syndrome was coined which is when the men and women wear tight jeans end up with abdominal discomfort.
High heels are another fashion hazard that most people over look just for looking a few inches taller. The higher the heel, the more weight is pushed forward on the balls of the feet and the worse it gets for the person wearing it. A 2014 review resolved that high heeled shoes alter that normal position of the foot and ankle and can cause a “chain reaction” of issues that can ultimately bother the spine. Not worth the risk is it? But then again it’s really up to you guys. If you ask us, you’d look just as good if you were a little shorter!
Corsets are next on the list. The Kardarshian clan is obsessed with these to supposedly train their wastes, leaving all their fans wanting to do the same. There’s essentially no evidence the process works, but usefulness aside, wearing corsets can be painful, make it hard to breathe, and could perhaps result in rib damage! Serious stuff right there.
Besides this there are a number of other things you can avoid such as neck ties, body piercings and more stuff which may make you look slightly better but isn’t worth the end result it has on your health!
