Constipation can be quite a ‘pain in the ass’ if you know what I mean! The funny thing about constipation is that is probably more common than you think it is since the people who are suffering from constipation aren’t going to come out to a crowd or a group of friends or associates and go, ’Hey, what’s up guys? I’m down with constipation!’ Doesn’t happen does it?

While we tend to keep to ourselves this issue of the passage of hard small pieces of stool that require some serious amounts of pressure (and sometimes pain) to come out the back, here’s a bit about constipation that can help you understand what’s happening inside your body and help fix it the right way. Constipation is caused thanks to dehydration or dryness in the bowel.

Most doctors you go to are going to tell you the same thing, you need to have more of fluids to avoid constipation. The good old use of warm milk for pressure isn’t so famous for nothing. The liquids lubricate the contents of your bowel and make things, let’s say smoother. Although you need to avoid liquids with caffeine since that’s a diuretic and ends up dehydrating you further.

But lack of fiber in your diet is the main cause of constipation. You absolutely need to have some fiber in your diet in the form of green leafy vegetables such as spinach or asparagus or whole grains that are rich in fiber. One simple and easy hack to load your body with fiber and take care of the ‘rigid’ problem you’re facing is here. It comes in a box, it tastes superb and it’s as good as any superfood. We’re talking about Muesli, the complete breakfast food which is used for weight management but is so rich in fiber that it ends up taking care of constipation as if it’s nothing. Muesli is a known source for roughage and dietary fiber, mainly from the wheat and oats. One single cup of muesli comprises of nearly 7 grams of dietary fiber, taking care of nearly one fourth of your daily needs right then and there. The plus side of Muesli as a fiber source is that it doesn’t take much time to prepare, and it definitely tastes much better than all the veggies!
