How to get rid of Intestinal Worms with Home Remedies!

Intestinal worms are parasites in the intestines, primarily on the walls. Among the different types of intestinal worms, the most harmful are roundworm, whipworm, pinworm, and tapeworm. Worms are caused by contaminated food or water, mosquitoes, sexual contact and even via the nose and skin. Other causes include poor hygiene, exposure to places which have parasites, weak immune system and eating raw and undercooked meat.

The problem of intestinal worms is most prevalent in the tropical and subtropical countries but is present all over the world.

Different symptoms like stomach pain, dysentery, gas, bad breath, diarrhea, excessive hunger, restless sleep, itching around the rectum, anemia, weight loss, weakness, frequent headaches, nausea, pain in the legs and nutritional disorders are associated with different types of worms. Apart from over the counter and prescription medications, there are many simple and easy natural treatments which can help you get rid of intestinal worms.

Coconut

Eating one tablespoon of crushed coconut with breakfast followed by one glass of warm milk with two tablespoons of castor oil after three hours can rid you of intestinal worms. However, people with a gastrointestinal disease and children should not take castor oil. Even the extra virgin coconut oil if consumed in an amount of four to six tablespoons daily expels parasites from the body as it is loaded with medium chain triglycerides.

Garlic

Garlic has been in use to treat any type of intestinal worms since ages. Raw garlic has sulfur-containing amino acids which are anti-parasitic in nature. Eating three cloves of raw garlic on an empty stomach every day for one week will get rid of all types of intestinal worms. You can also boil two crushed garlic cloves in half a cup of milk and drink on an empty stomach every day for one week.

Unripe papaya

Unripe papaya has been in use in the Ayurvedic system of medicine since ancient times. Papaya contains enzyme papain which destroys intestinal worms. One remedy is to mix one tablespoon each of fresh raw papaya juice with honey and four tablespoons of hot water. Drink it every morning on an empty stomach and follow it with a glass of warm milk with two tablespoons of castor oil after two hours. Taking this remedy for two to three days will get rid of intestinal worms.

Pumpkin seeds

A compound called cucurbitacin in pumpkin seeds has anti-parasitic properties which paralyze the intestinal worms and they cannot cling to the walls of the intestine and are soon expelled. Add two tablespoons of peeled and crushed pumpkin seeds to three cups of boiling water and allow to steep for 30 minutes. Allow it to cool and drink the concoction to get rid of intestinal worms
