What do you think our forefathers ate? Surely not burgers, pizza or vada pav. The historic food is somewhere lost in our modern stressful lifestyle. Our ancestors lived a longer and better life than us. As people claim, they had less stress than we have today which led to a longer life, but their distinct food patterns and healthy lifestyle surely made them live happier and longer.

Our ancestors were strict followers of two things: Diet and Yoga. While yoga stood the test of time, their food pattern disappeared. The food they had, is lost over the years and with that the health and nutrition also disappeared. People nowadays are trying to give immense importance to health and fitness in their life. For this purpose, they are following weird diet trends, but none actually think of going back and picking a leaf from our ancestor's life.

Our forefathers were largely dependent on natural foods. They had plants, seeds, fruits, nuts and leaves in the rawest form or simply dried . Sometimes those natural foods were spiced with naturally grown condiments. They were too close to nature, unlike us, who forgo the natural foods. For sure, we have modernized and globalized, our palate has transformed, but it shouldn’t be at the cost of our health and longevity. Being used to the spices laden foods, the foods that our forefathers had may seem bland and tasteless, so why not consume it in a modern way!

We cannot completely disturb our regular diet, but somewhere, in between the meals maybe, we can add ancient bites. Simply take few of the raw foods that our ancestors ate, spice them up with your favorite seasoning and enjoy the ancient bites in modern taste.

Let’s switch our diet a little and go back to our roots in a modern way.
