Sugar and chocolate the two devils of your child’s diet, that seem inseparable from them. Look around any playground and you will notice the children sipping chocolate drinks or any sugary sweets. These sweets do nothing great to the child’s growing body but in turn, can make them obese. Worried parents like you, are always scavenging for some healthier alternatives to these sweets.

There is a simple and not so exotic substitute to the sugar. Behold! Sugar cravings can be satisfied by something other than sugar. An amber color fluid made by the honey bees from the nectar of flowers, nature’s sweetener for centuries is superior to sugar. Lucky for us, this nectar has loads of health benefits.

Benefits: Rich in flavor, loaded with nutrition, honey can promote the growth of good bacteria in the intestine. It gives a long lasting energy which can make your child more energetic and improve his/her sports performance. It can even be the best way to replenish the lost energy without much effect on the blood sugar. If your child is suffering from insomnia or lack of sleep, it can help promote good night sleep. Honey over sugar and the number of excessively obese children in the playground can reduce easily.

Once touted as ‘ nectar of the gods’  this sweetener can be your trump card to gratify the sugar cravings on your child in a healthier way. Worried, how can you feed your child a spoon of honey over the irresistible and well-favoured pack of chocolate and here is where honey shots come to your help. Honey shots are simple honey packed in easy to eat packaging. Simple, tear and sip packs, just as liquid chocolate is packed, these shots or twigs can be of a great help. In fact, your child will love them. Make sure, they don’t have these sticks in excess too, they can lead to tooth decay.

Your child eats a lot more sugar than you think. So change their habit before it's too late. To prevent excess sugar shocks, you can even try adding honey to your daily food, eg replacing sugar in your tea with honey or sugar from morning cereal with honey.
