These issues are still as much a piece of life as are food and water. We all wish that the world we live in could be a better place. How about vowing to make some impactful strides on this World Environment Day. Here are some life hacks to help the environment.
1. Clear-out plastic

Plastic is an incredible material in any case, flexible and easy to use. However when utilized as a disposable, it is one of the earth's greatest adversaries. It can take many years for some plastic sorts to breakdown, and meanwhile, it's consuming up space in landfills, harming the wildlife, and using up natural resources! So think twice before grabbing your next bottled water, reuse plastics however much as could be expected or carry your own cloth bags to the grocery store.
2. Conserve energy

How many times have you left the cell phone charger on without even plugging in the phone? We don’t realize that energy is constantly being drawn while the switch is left on. For everybody who thinks that this minuscules amount of wastage in energy doesn’t really make a difference, here are some facts. The average charger consumes 0.26W energy when not in use, and 2.2W energy when a fully charged device is connected. This constantly-drawn energy leads to huge wastage over a long period of time. So remember to switch off all electric appliances when not in use and most importantly unplug that charger.
3. Reduce. Reuse. Recycle

Remember the three R’s you learned in school? That is what it is. Start differentiating between your wants and needs and reduce the consumption of things that you really don’t need. If you cannot reduce your utilization of something, reuse it. What’s more, if you can’t reuse, recycle! Likewise, try purchasing recycled products whenever you can.
4. Leave your car

Taking your car everywhere you go just adds to the environmental woes. Try taking the public transport at least two to three days a week. You can also opt for walking or cycling between shorter distances. This not only reduces environmental impact but also improves your health. So next time you step out of your home, remember to leave the car behind.
5. Ditch meat

The 2010 United Nations report identified consumption of food and animal agriculture as one of the notable causes of environmental and climate change. It also suggested that a noteworthy decrease in the impact can occur with a global shift in a dietary pattern away from animal sources of food. Research has shown restricting red meat consumption alone can reduce an individual’s carbon footprint more than giving up driving cars. So, watch your consumption of meat.
This World Environment Day try incorporating some (or all!) of the life hacks which will help reduce the environmental impact. That could be just your way of saying thank you to nature!
