No-bake chocolate granola bars:

These granola bars filled with delectable chocolate flavor and peanut butter is one of the best ways to kick start your day. After all, chocolate can boost your mood and relieve that last vestige of drowsiness. None stops you from consuming these bars as dessert. Indeed, nothing can replace chocolate in dessert and a healthy granola bar chocolate dessert will do no harm to your body, in fact, will benefit it.

Servings:

Around 40 bars.

Ingredients:

  • -4 cups oats (you can use steel cut or old fashioned to make the bars crunchier).
  • -1 cup peanut butter (if you are allergic to peanuts, you can use almond butter instead).
  • -¾ cup +2 tbsp honey (can use another sweetener like agave or sorghum, according to your taste).
  • -¼ cup Choco chips (Can use dark chocolate for additional health benefits).
  • -½ cups nuts (optional).
  • -Butter or cooking spray for greasing

Instructions:

  • -Grease pan well.
  • -Heat ¾ cup of honey and peanut butter on a medium heat. (You can microwave also, but make sure to stir after every half a minute.).
  • -Keep stirring the mixture well, to avoid lump formation.
  • -Stir until it bubbles a little, is mixed pooled properly and is hot enough to melt Choco chips.
  • -In another bowl, mix oats, Choco chips, and nuts. ( you can toss your oats in pan for pumping the flavor or you can just keep it raw).
  • -Add the oats mixture to the melted peanut butter mixture.
  • -Stir well till the Choco chips are melted properly and a perfect mixture of all the ingredients is formed.
  • -Once combined properly, mash the mixture into the pan with a masher or spatula. You can even mash with your hands. This is the most important step of the recipe.
  • -Once properly mashed, let it cool.
  • -For additional taste, you can add some Choco chips after the mixture is cool, so that they don’t melt and the toothsome character of chips is retained.
  • -Scoop the mixture into a parchment lined the pan and pack the bars down until properly firm packed, enough to be held together.
  • -Cool at the room temperature.
  • -Use a sharp knife to slice the bars properly.
  • -Store in airtight containers or else they will be sticky and crumble apart.
  • -Serve these as needed.

These bars are too tempting and can be served whenever needed as a breakfast item or even as a dessert. These are healthy enough to be served to children also. Let the granola snob in you arise. I am sure it will after you cook the above recipe. Enjoy cooking, enjoy eating!
