So it’s the time of the year when the dreaded viral fever is out in the open looking for its next victim and you may not even know you have it! It can be quite a headache, literally!

But no seriously, nobody likes to be out of action and lying in bed drinking soup with a handkerchief full of the not-so-good stuff and the inability to even turn sides because of severe body ache and weakness. If this is what you’re afraid of then this one’s for you guys, let’s see it go viral!

So what is viral fever? It is basically an increase in your body temperature because of an infection caused by a virus, which mostly occurs in children and older people since they have lower immunity. Skin rashes, headaches and body aches are the main symptoms of this fever, which can be treated by medicines or a variety of home remedies as well. Now how do people contract the viral fever? Its way simpler than you think. The virus spreads from one person to another through direct contact with one’s bodily fluids. Don’t start overthinking, it simply means if someone who is infected yawns or sneezes or even coughs in the vicinity, chances are that his microscopic spray of virus is going to find it’s way inside your body and you’ll be sick too, soon enough!

The symptoms of the fever are pretty straight forward, a rise in body temperature intermittently, cough and cold, an inflamed larynx, body aches, sores, muscle pain and fatigue are among the many symptoms of viral fever. Besides this, sometimes the fever may be accompanied with skin rashes, diarrhea and vomiting.

While visiting the doctor is one option and quite a sensible one if your case is pretty severe, there are a few home remedies for Viral fever that you can rely on if you’re not too keen on depending on antibiotics or if you don’t think that your case is severe enough.
