We all want to stay smart and sharp but I don’t think eating burgers and fries is helping us get there. While we all have phases where we may have experienced the pinnacle of brilliance and presence of mind, it's hard to go back there and keep your focus and work on the concentration.

What would you do if we told you that there are certain foods that can actually work on your brain and improve your memory, focus and keep your concentration levels high constantly? Here's a list guys!

  • Walnuts – You do not want to be ignoring these little guys in your diet. Walnuts are a rare source of healthy fat and ALA (Alpha Linoic Acid). They are also healthy for the heart and anti-inflammatory in nature! What they do is that they promote  blood flow to the brain and make the oxygen more easily and abundantly available to the control room of our body, giving it better resources to function and hence improving the overall performance!

  • Olive Oil – You probably have heard people go on and on about olive oil and its importance in weight loss, since it contains healthy Omega 3 fatty acids and helps burn down the fat. But what it also does is keeps your brain healthy and lively. Olive oil contains monounsaturated fats which have been shown to reduce the speed of the aging of the brain. Elixir of youth? Something like that!

  • Berries – Don’t you wish all the superfoods were this tasty. Research has shown that a diet rich in Strawberries and Blueberries have been linked with slowing down the mental decline of the human brain. They are high in antioxidants and keep the brain fresher and younger and crisp.

  • Coffee – Besides brain health, there are a number of benefits that caffeine has which make it one of the most effective and potent superfoods out there today, but what it mainly does for the brain is improving mental activity and sharpness. It is also high in anti-oxidants and keeps the brain healthy.

  • Water – Its right out there but we fail to realize its importance. Dehydration is known to mess with the cognitive function and sufficient amounts of water are needed by the body to continue smooth and effective functioning.

Add these to your diet and you may just give the smartest man in the room some competition!
